La Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències was designed by Santiago Calatrava (architect, engineer and sculptor). He is Valencian but has well-known works all around the world, as the Milwaukee Art Museum (USA), the Turning Torso in Malmo (Sweden), the Athens Olympics Sports Complex (Greece), or the Museum of Tomorrow in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).

La Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències is very nice, indeed, with a great cultural and architectural value. However, there is a reverse side of the coin (in a next post, next Saturday).
